Swimming is definitely one of the most preferred fitness activity for many people. There are reasons why they love this sport. It could be due to other hobbies such as scuba diving or other aquatics sports. As a swimming coach I see it as part of my fitness routine. Beyond sharing my views and skill, I believe that it has therapeutic value that fights against stress. Other people may view it in different manner. Whatever their views are, I think this fitness activity really is a great choice.

  1. Swimming is important as a fitness activity because swimming is also a exercise. It can help us in our health. In swimming all your body parts are moving or functioning. 2. It is important because aside from the knowledge you will get, you can now enjoy swimming without any hesitation no matter how short or long the distance. It is good for people who have asthma, it is good in our respiratory system for proper breathing and if my memory serves me right it is also good for our heart. Swimming makes you slim(as I know) and makes you physically fit. People who have fear in water will now enjoy and engage in swimming. Swimming gives relaxation and peace of mind especially when you are with your loved ones.

  3. I really like swimming though there are still lots of things that I need to know from it. Swimming is important as a fitness activity because it is a big help to our health specially to the respiratory system and to our heart. It is one good exercise as I've read in an article. It is actually a sport that gives so much benefits to the body and to the whole person. And one very good thing about swimming is that it helps you keep the stress off of your body. Aside from that, we also know that water is good for the body and that it can be a treatment to some diseases like asthma. When a person swims, it helps him/her strech his/her body to become healthy and physically fit!

  4. Swimming is a good exercise because it can actually develop a good way of breathing. It can enhance your skill and the flexibility of your body. Swimming is probably one of the most healthy, fun, challenging and low impact forms of exercise you can do. As we age, it is important to consider adding low impact, aerobic exercise to the physical fitness routine. Swimming is the ideal activity for many who can no longer bear the high impact and joint stress of running or jogging. It is also an advantage for those people who are overweight, swimming is perhaps the best way to exercise because it alleviates stress on the leg joints. Swimming has the added benefit of providing a total body cardiovascular workout unlike any other.

  6. As what we have learned in the first few weeks of our class, swimming has benefits to our health. It is a form of cardio-exercise, which is a good therapy for asthma and other cardiovascular diseases. It is also an exercise in which the legs and arms are both working. Swimming is also an exercise which is not messy. Because swimmers may do this and bathing at the same time.

My most desired, and the only swimmer I know, is Michael Phelps. He had won 22 Olympic medals and is great in butterfly stroke, which other swimmers see it not so easy. Michael is the youngest to break the 200meter butterfly record. He was recognized World Swimmer of the Year for six times and American swimmer of the Year for eight times. After the London Olympics 2012, Michael Phelps announced his retirement from swimming. Too young and too early to be retired. I hope Ryan Lochte, his teammate, may do better than Michael Phelps.
