Self-assessment of swimming skill

Assessment in an important aspect of learning. It gives feedback in terms of what to improve, say instruction, facility, or even the specific type of classroom procedure. This blog article is for my students in basic swimming class with a goal of assessing their own skill after the series of sessions. Self-assessment could be basis for evaluating their academic performance if it somehow reflect on their perception. Furthermore, it will help the coach/professor improve specific aspects of instruction and other teaching practices.

For me, in the scale of 1-10 i would give my self an 8 points. Why? Because I know in myself that I can do some of the strokes that have been taught to us by our professor but still there are some strokes that I've been having a hard time executing. Lastly, there are swimming skills of mine that had been enhanced through the help and supervision of our professor. 😊

In terms of swimming skills I would like to rate myself 7 out of 10 because even though I’m not good in swimming or let’s say I don’t have enough knowledge on how to swim I still always give myself a try to improve my skills since I enter this class.
I learn how to dive which I really don’t know how to do it before. I learn different kind of stroke which makes me more confident than I am before and what I love the most is I learn to face my fear, I don’t care if I might drown as long as I try my best to do the task given to us, even though I can’t make it perfectly, I always assure that there is an effort and determination in everything I do so nothing will be impossible to make. So in every task that our class do I just keep on trying even it seems so hard for a beginner like me.
So I rate myself 7 because I really don’t know how to swim before but now I am able to swim different kinds of stroke and of course I learn how to dive, I learned and improve a lot, It might not be perfect but I know it’s a great start.

In terms of swimming skill, I would rate myself 7 out of 10. Because I know for myself that I know how to and that I can do the strokes that I learned from my professor, despite the fact that I still struggle with some strokes. I learned so much from this class that helped me enhance my swimming skills.

I'll give myself 8 out 10 because before the class started, I really don't know how to swim properly. And swimming is one of the sports that I want to learn and at a certain point, conquer. As I attend the class every week, I'm learning a new set of skills or styles regarding swimming. Therefore, I conclude that I have grown so much in terms of my swimming skills based from what I know and what I can do before than now.

In terms of swimming skills, I would rate myself 8 out of 10 because i had difficulty in swimming before. I was Aquaphobic, i experienced panic attacks when near water or even at the thought of being near water. It was hard for me to learn how to swim but i choose to improve myself and with help of my Professor who always push me to the limit and giving me advises on how to improve my swimming skills. Two month ago, I actually put my head under the water without hesitation. And this was a huge accomplishment for me! Step by step i learned how to swim, even thou I almost drown so many times, I kept on telling myself that 'i can do this!'. Now I can swim without fear and I'm able to swim different kinds of strokes. This class helped me to improve my swimming skills and to conquer my fear.

I rate myself 8 out of 10. From scratch I learned how to refrain myself from drowning and almost everything about swimming when I enrolled to this class. I admit that I really had a hard time in doing some activities, and there was a time that I really wanted to give up. But as the time goes by, with the help of our professor, having a great determination and practicing simultaneously, I conquered my fears and I can execute those activities little by little. I hope that in the next stage, which is Advanced Swimming, I can master different strokes, enhance my skills, and swim confidently without fear and hesitation on my ability.

In terms of swimming skills, I would rate myself 8 out of 10. Why? Because even though i'm not that good in swimming. I always give my 100% in this activity. There are times that I really want to give up but still, i always give myself a try and accept my failures to improve my skills. Honestly, it's a little bit hard for me to fail in practicals because i'm irregular student in this class and it's embarassing. And lastly, within the help of our professor I learned different strokes, how to enhance & improve it more and to conquer my fear.

After all the swimming classes so far I rate myself 8 out of 10. I gave myself an 8 because i think its is a fair score to me as my knowledge about swimming was very minimal and I didnt know as much as I did now. At first it was challenging because I though that I was going to fail in the class because of the physical aspect you need for swimming. But after the first few classes I really found it enjoyable to do and it wasnt that difficult. It gave me confidence to do more because of the fact that I now know alot of strokes and actually know how to do different variations of strokes. This class taught me how conquer my fears in swimming like diving. I doubted my self when I was going to do it and thought negatively throughout but when gave it a shot, I learned how to do it and learned what mistakes I need to correct. This class gave me a better perspective on swimming and it is not just an activity you do outdoors, there is a something bigger behind it. Although I have alot to improve especially my stamina, it is safe to say that I know a thing or two when it comes to swimming and it will definetly be a helpful tool in the future.

As a student of PE3 i rate myself 8 over 10, i gave myself 8 because i know that i gave my best to overcome all the strokes our profesor taught us. I really love swimming and it is one of the reason why i did all the strokes even though there are ones that is very hard, but still i gave my best. I even learn floating that ever since i had my swimming lessons when i was a kid, i really can't do floating and now because of this class i am able to do it good. I am thankful to have a lessons like this because it is very useful for our future jobs.

I rate myself 9 out 10 because I know that I did my best in this class. It improved my swimming skills and helped me learn basic and advance strokes. Because of the help of Prof. Herman i was able to execute the strokes properly and being a student of him for 2 consecutive semesters i can say to myself that i did it. I can now justify his mission and vision to this swimming class with the help of him.

I would rate myself 8 out of 10. It is because I, myself, saw and knew that I did pretty well and have learned a lot. This class taught me numerous tips and have given me more ideas than I have ever known before. It taught me skills I can apply in various scenarios, such as staying more relaxed than tensed can make you float on water much easier. I never thought that I was doing the wrong one until I've known what's the right thing to do, such as executing right postures and strokes in freestyle, diving and back stroke swimming. In top of it all, I have given myself 8, because I have based it in how much skills and knowledge I have acquired and on how it opened my mind into many things . Swimming class for me now is not only a class that teaches you on how to swim right or on how to be a good swimmer but, in behalf, it taught me that it is also a way of teaching us how to survive and how to survive others lives. In this class it gave me the thinking that everything you think that are hard enough to do will be conquered if you just find relaxation and joy in what you do.

In terms of swimming skills, I'll give myself an 8 out of 10. Because i know to myself that i gave my best and everything, yet I know it's not enough because it's really hard for me to breathe under the water. And without the help of our prof I would've not learned all of the basic strokes that he just taught to us. Breast stroke was really hard for me because I can't let my hands and feet work at the same time. But I cope with it, I asked my blockmates and my prof to teach me how to really do it well. And I'm really thankful in this swimming class because now, I know some basic stuff about swimming. Being a student it is really hard to have this kind of PE because, you need full energy and strength because having swimming class is not really easy. So right now, I can say to myself that i can really swim now.

I followed also the proper way on how to do the different strokes. Honestly, I don't have any swimming lessons experience before that's why I'm very excited to learn a lot in this class, at first It was difficult for me to do the different strokes like breaststroke but by the help, guidance, of my professor I can say that my swimming skills started to grow and improved.

In terms of swimming skills, I rate myself 8 out 10 because I know I did all my best in this class, it helps improve my swimming skills even though sometimes I have hard time breathing and I learn more about basic and advance strokes. I know I gave my best to overcome the strokes that our professor taught us but one of the hardest strokes that I can’t execute is the breaststroke but I am trying my best to do it. I love swimming ever since I was a child my parents enrolled me in a swimming class but I didn't learn because of my fear of drowning but my parents didn't stop supporting me to learn to swim, when my parents enrolled me again I really learned swimming like freestyle, backfloat and butterfly because the coach that taught me was good and demonstrated the strokes so that we can execute properly. I am thankful to have swimming lessons because it helps to improve my swimming skills, and with the help of our professor who guide and help us to execute the strokes that he has taught us.

I'll give myself an 8 out of 10, because I've learned a lot from this class; from the proper breathing technique down to the proper timing and execution, thus, this class ameliorates my proficiency in swimming. I know I may not have excelled in most of the test, but I know within myself that I did my best to cope up with the activities; given that our Professor, Sir. Herman, also did his best to teach us what is needed to learn.

In a score of 1 - 10, I'd like to give myself a score of 8. The reason is that although I knew how to swim since I had swimming classes since grade school in Japan, I can say that my swimming skills has really developed well. I was able to do the Breast stroke which I really hated during my elementary days. And lastly I'd like to thank my professor for patiently dealing with us and also for giving us a lot of tips in swimming.

But, as our swimming class goes on, I have also learned a lot most specially some of the techniques in swimming, which is taught by our professor, that help me to strive harder in learning the basic swimming techniques and because of the knowledge I got from our professor I am thankful for having it.

In this whole semester of our swimming class, I would like to rate myself 8 out of 10. It is really noticeable that my swimming skills improved. Eventhough there are times that the activity/task given to us was really challenging and hard for me because at first I have an adequate knowledge when it comes to swimming, I still managed to do it and in that it gave me more confidence and self-esteem to always give my best in every task. In this class I learned a lot of things especially the basic knowledge we must know about swimming and as a Tourism Management student, we are actually required to learn swimming as it is inclined in our course. And now for every meeting/class we have, it is now enjoyable and fun.

I believe that it is the rate that best suits my swimming skills performance for i am not that really great but at least, well enough to say that i practically know how to swim. I've been into a training during my high school year once in preparation for this since i'm already decided at the very young age of what kind of profession i would like to take and that is, Tourism. And i am also grateful to be under the training of Professor Herman. I'm rating my swimming skills as 8/10. Why? Because before taking up basic swimming I already took up and finished the advance course, and I already learned in advance swimming last semester those things that was just about to teach in basic swimming. Our professor, Mr. Herman Brinas served as my helping hand when I was about to give up in learning breast stroke and diving, he motivates me and my classmates to strive for greatness and perfection, Thank you so much sir.
Kudos to you and Arriba Letran!

On the scale of 1-10 i would give my self a 10 because i did my best to learn all the things that sir herman taught me and i never fail to try in executing all the strokes that he requires us to do until i have learn the proper way of doing it even when i am having a hard time to make it but still i can. Even though i dont get a perfect score in our practicals i would still give myself a 10 because i am contented from what i have done and i have reached my standard in executing our lessons and i dont have any regrets on all the performances that i have done. That is the reason why i rate myself a perfect score.

For me, in a scale of 1-10 I would rate myself 8 because, I improved my swimming skills. I learned the proper ways in swimming. I learned how to make it in a right way. 8 because, I learned a lot for this sem. Even though I have a little bit of knowledge in swimming, I can say now that I already know a proper swimming skills.

I'll give myself a score of 7. I have learned so many things from my swimming lesson and I know I can use this knowledge in the future, my fear is gone and because of this I can now swim even in the deep part of the pool. Eventhough sometimes I find it hard to do some stroke Im still doing my best to learn and I enjoy this class so much.

I will rate myself 6 over 10. I admit that my skills in swimming is not that good because I have problem in breathing because of asthma and pneumonia. My professor is very good in coaching us about the techniques in basic swimming. I have learned more about swimming. I may not be good in practical examinations but i was properly equipt with knowledge on how to properly execute techniques in basic swimming.

I rate myself 10 out of 10 because im confident in swimming since its the first sport i learned on my own and I learned new techniques from this subject because everything seems easy even though some people struggle. I am motivated to join the swimming team because of this subject/activity.

I rate myself 8 out of 10. Before, Im not confident enough to swim because of my eyesight and I don't continue my swimming lesson since i was a kid. But now i learned the basic strokes in swimming I can now face my fear. Though its hard for me, I did what I can just to finish my task. Iam confident enough to swim and I can say that I enjoyed the swimming class because i learned a lot.

I'm not a good swimmer though I'm competitive. Thanks to Sir Herman for being such a Mconsiderate professor. Even if I can't do it, I make it a point to still try every activity that we had. I believe there's always a room for improvement, the difference between possible and impossible lies in a man's determination. I would still love to see you Sir. Not in angelicum but in PICC. :) Thank you for the energetic and fun swimming classes.
